Cajun Prairie Habitat Preservation Society Meeting & Prairie Tour

Come catch the peak Liatris pycnostachya (Prairie blazing star; plume des Kansas) bloom! The Cajun Prairie Habitat Preservation Society will be having its annual “fall” meeting and prairie tour on Saturday, September 9th. The tour will start at 8:00 AM at our Eunice prairie, before moving to the LSUE Science Building (room 102) for our meeting at 10:00 AM. The meeting will include a plant auction and a series of talks, and discussion will include plans for management of the Duralde Cajun Prairie. Anyone wanting to give a formal presentation on any topic is more than welcome to contact the society at cphpsociety@gmail.com.  

The Eunice prairie can be found at 650 E Magnolia Ave, Eunice, LA, and LSUE’s campus is at 2048 Johnson Hwy. The science building is off the southwest corner of the parking lot (30.4738, -92.4339). We will be in room 102. Feel free to bring any plants that you would like to donate to the auction!
