Please join the Louisiana Master Naturalists of Greater Baton Rouge for our first Invasive Plant Control Workday of 2023 on Saturday, March 18, 2023 in the Trail A Ravine in the South Tract of the Tunica Hills WMA. Our Special Use Permit (SUP) covers the removal of non-native Ardisia sp., tallow trees, trifoliate orange and privet. Please see the attached ID guide for privet and for yaupon, an important native shrub. We will meet in the Trail A parking lot at 9 am but you are welcome to start at any time. If you prefer a time other than 9 am, please call or text me at 225-229-8856 so I can ensure you can meet up with the work crew.

South Tract of Tunica Hills WMA, Trail A Ravine. Entering Tunica Hills WMA Trail A into Google Maps gives the most direct route (attached). Trail A has room for only about six vehicles but the Nature Trail parking lot, about a 100 feet past the Trail A lot on the right, has plenty of space. If you are interested in carpooling we will depart the rear parking lot of The Backpacker, 7656 Jefferson Hwy, at 7:30 am with a stop at Audubon Market, 5452 Live Oak Centre Dr, at 8:15 am.
