Sept 16, 2026 – Prescribed Burn Association Interest Meeting
Interested in using prescribed fire to manage wildlife habitat on your property?
Landowners and others interested in prescribed burning are invited to a Prescribed Burn Association interest meeting. Learn how PBAs bring landowners together to share knowledge, equipment, time and experience to conduct burns more safely and effectively.

October 4, 2026 – Nature & Wildlife Event
Join the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority on Sunday, October 4, from 1–4 p.m. at the LSU Center for River Studies for an afternoon celebrating Louisiana’s coastal nature and wildlife. Visitors can learn about the plants, animals and natural systems of our coast while connecting with organizations working to increase understanding and appreciation of these important habitats.
LNPS will have a table at this event.
November 7 – 8. 2026 Next Class for the Louisiana Native Professional Certification Program
The Louisiana Native Professional Certification Program equips landscape professionals with the knowledge to design, install and maintain landscapes using native plants. Training covers plant identification, ecology, Louisiana soils and ecoregions, site evaluation, landscape planning and long-term care. Those who successfully complete the program earn certification and a listing in LNPS’s online directory of certified native plant professionals.
March 5 – 7, 2027 Louisiana Native Plant Conference
Join the Louisiana Native Plant Society March 5–7, 2027, at the Solomon Center in Loranger for a weekend of learning, exploration and connection. The conference will feature expert speakers, educational sessions, field trips, a native plant sale, plant propagation workshop, silent auction and more. We will also honor LNPS founding member Dr. Charles M. Allen and his contributions to Louisiana’s native plant community.
