Iris Demonstration Day – Island Iris Nursery City Park

Greater New Orleans Iris Society will hold its first Demonstration Day Saturday, September 9, from 9 to 11 AM at our Island Iris Nursery in City Park. Members and friends are invited to come out for cultural demonstrations on demand.
We’ll show how Louisiana irises should be divided and replanted and provide examples of growing them in several situations. Experienced growers will answer any questions you may have about Louisiana iris culture. This will be an informal event. Just come out, watch, ask questions, and visit.
Directions to the Island Iris Nursery
Navigate to intersection of Harrison Avenue and Marconi in New Orleans (big blue arrow). Marconi is the western boundary of the Park. Harrison runs through the Lakeview neighborhood and transects the Park.
The nursery is located just inside the Park and just off Harrison behind the NOPD stables (red marker).
