Trumpet Honeysuckle

Lonicera sempervirens

Trumpet Honeysuckle (Coral Honeysuckle) Lonicera sempervirens is a native vine that occurs over most of the state in woodlands and thickets, and along fencerows. It produces beautiful red and yellow flowers March – November, but blooms nearly year-round in South Louisiana; the flowers are an excellent nectar source for hummingbirds and Orchard Orioles.

Trumpet Honeysuckle tolerates most soil types and thrives in part shade. Use it on a trellis or fence exposed to full sun for best flower production.
